Nestled atop The Envoy Hotel in Boston’s vibrant Seaport District, Rooftop at The Envoy stands out as a captivating bar destination that seamlessly blends stunning harbor panoramas with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. This rooftop oasis offers more than just spectacular views of Boston’s waterfront—you’ll find a carefully curated beverage program that elevates your drinking experience alongside thoughtfully crafted bites, all wrapped in an inviting social setting.
The drink selection here is nothing short of impressive. From inventive barrel-aged cocktails like Brian’s Barrel Aged — blending Knob Creek bourbon with Antica Carpano and port wine — to fresh, playful sips such as the Lemon Icetail featuring Reyka vodka and bright lemon notes, every sip feels carefully constructed to delight your palate. The Fruit Stand menu enchants with creative blends like the Bill Murray Schofferhoffer grapefruit hefeweizen combined with Absolut grapefruit and the refreshing Mint Condition, where organic Meyer lemon vodka is infused with mint and light lemonade. Craft beer lovers will appreciate Boston favorites like Lord Hobo Freebird Ale and a rotating IPA selection, while the thoughtfully chosen wine list highlights crisp Rosé and more.
Food offerings, though not extensive, are executed with consistent flavor and texture, making for perfect accompaniments to those exceptional drinks. The Smoked Salmon Toast offers a luscious balance of smoky, creamy, and fresh elements, while the Pork Belly and New England Clam Chowder showcase local ingredients and rich, comforting flavors. Light yet satisfying options like the Chicken Caesar Salad and Fish Sandwich cater well to casual bites, and indulgent treats like the Red Velvet Cupcake round out your rooftop experience with a sweet finish.
Many patrons rave about the ambiance, describing it as a “laid back and chill” haven with an electric vibe fueled by great music and a crowd that ranges from local regulars to visiting tourists soaking in every angle of the harbor. Shauna notes how the salmon bowl pulses with flavor while appreciating the inviting service and the breathtaking harbor views that transition beautifully from sunlit afternoons into sparkling city nights. Meanwhile, Renauld “NauldoNation” highlights the quality of the liquor used, especially the tequila, even as the price point leans toward the premium side — a small tradeoff for the atmosphere that Rooftop at The Envoy cultivates so effortlessly.
That said, some visitors, like Amina, express minor critiques about presentation, specifically the use of plastic cups, which feels at odds with the venue’s otherwise polished vibe. But the expertise of the bartenders and the friendly, welcoming staff more than make up for these small quirks. Detlev’s praise of the attentive service and satisfying brunch options further emphasizes the warm and inclusive welcome the Rooftop extends to all its guests.
In essence, Rooftop at The Envoy is the perfect place to unwind whether you’re starting your day with a leisurely brunch or capping off an evening with barrel-aged cocktails in hand, a sea breeze in your hair, and some of the best views Boston has to offer. It’s not just a bar—it’s an experience elevated by stellar drinks, comfort food, and an atmosphere that celebrates both cityscape and community.
Amazing views and consistent food and drinks. The salmon bowl had great flavor. Not fine dining, but laid back and chill and good service. Lovely views of the harbor, both in the day and at night.
The rooftop at the Envoy is an awesome spot with a great atmosphere and good music. It’s definitely one of those places where the vibe alone makes it worth checking out. That said, like most of Boston, it’s not cheap—you’re looking at $20+ per drink, so if you grab a few rounds, it adds up fast. Still, they use high-quality liquor (especially the tequila, which I appreciated), and you can taste the difference. One standout was the frozen mango cocktail—on a hot summer day, two of those will set you right. Between the skyline views, the energy, and the quality drinks, I’d absolutely go back. Just keep in mind, you’re in Boston, so expect to pay for the experience.
Highly recommend visiting this place for the amazing view and great music selection. The drinks are good, but they are served in plastic cups, which is unacceptable for such a nice place. Great bartender.
We didn't try the food so I can't comment. We had beer and the place was packed. Worth it as the view and atmosphere was great..there was a combination of locals who were there to party and tourists like us who wanted to savour in the view. They checked our ID which was funny for my friend and I as we were well above the minimum age.
A great place to enjoy a relaxed brunch. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the start. The sandwich was just the right choice for a late Sunday breakfast after a long flight—fresh, satisfying, and perfectly portioned. And the coffee? Strong, smooth, and exactly what you need to kickstart the day. Thank you!
One of the best rooftop in Boston!!! Night view is better than day view from this location. We went to try some drinks and to chill, good atmosphere and vibes, when we got there, it was a party at the entrance so somehow, we were lucky.
